Position overview:
-
To coordinate and support Dorcas country programs in accordance with Dorcas mandate, values and quality standards.
Main responsibilities:
-
The initiation and management of Dorcas projects in Russia, control so that they are implemented within the boundaries of time, finance, staff resources, quality and communications as set out in project proposals.
Key activity areas:
Project Management
-
Monitor and coordinate project implementation and progress in plans.
-
Appraise progress and evaluation reports and forward these to Country Coordinator/Headquarters.

Appraise new project proposals and budgets and forward project proposals which meet DAI criteria and local strategy to Country Coordinator.

Assist partner-organizations in developing and implementing plans aimed at improving projects and the organizations.

Selecting partner organizations and new projects.
-
Encourage partner-organizations to take initiatives for innovative pilot projects.
-
Responsible for articles, human interest stories about project activities.
-
Responsible for photographs and video material about project activities.
Financial Management
-
Responsible for financial management and administration of projects.
-
Monitor project budgets and cash flows of the Dorcas projects.
-
Submit annual budgets, cash flows and financial statements to Country Coordinator.

Solve budget problems of projects in Russia and/or advice CC on these issues.
Strategic Management
-
Actively participate in development of the general policy of Russia and strategic planning.

Implement the policy-guidelines in the projects.

Develop and maintain contacts with Government, Embassies, NGO's and other organizations.

Actively participate in Partner Capacity Building.

Responsible for reports about project- and partner visits.
Qualification:
-
Management and/or Humanitarian aid education.
-
Good knowledge of Project Life Cycle principles.
Experience:
-
Experience with humanitarian NGO desirable.

Special working conditions:

Travel for up to two months per year.

Because Dorcas Aid International is a hands on organization, the Project Manager needs to be flexible to assist other Project Managers or others if so required.
